GLP-1 Medications: Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Trulicity, Rybelsus

What Are GLP-1 Drugs Like Ozempic and Wegovy?

GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide-1) drugs are a class of medications used to treat Type 2 diabetes and for weight loss. These drugs are intended to help regulate blood sugar levels and promote weight loss by mimicking the effects of the GLP-1 hormone, which stimulates insulin production and slows down digestion.

These drugs are now under intense legal scrutiny for severe and debilitating side effects. The attorneys at mctlaw represent clients who’ve had reactions to the following GLP-1 drugs:

What the GLP-1 Lawsuits Are About

Patients who have experienced severe side effects from GLP-1 drugs are filing lawsuits against the manufacturers for not warning them about the potential risks and severe side effects associated with GLP-1 drugs. This lack of warning can leave patients unaware of the dangers and unable to make informed decisions about their treatment.

Did you experience stomach paralysis, gastroparesis, or a permanent injury from GLP-1 drugs?

Types of injuries from GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic

While GLP-1 drugs may be effective for managing diabetes and aiding weight loss, they are also associated with severe side effects. Patients taking Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Trulicity, or Rybelsus have reported experiencing the following conditions:

Gastroparesis or Stomach Paralysis: While these drugs generally are designed to slow the process of digestion, gastroparesis can occur when the process is slowed down too much, or for too long.  In mild cases, it can lead to symptoms like nausea, vomiting, bloating, and abdominal pain. In severe cases, this can lead to malnutrition, dehydration, organ failure, and serious hospitalization.

Bowel Obstruction – These drugs have been linked to blocked intestines or ileus. This is a serious reaction when the intestines cannot contract normally and do not move waste through the body. Bowel obstructions often require hospitalization and possibly surgery.

Deep Vein Thrombosis DVT – This is a medical condition that happens when a blood clot forms inside the body’s veins, often in the legs or extremities. The blood clot can break free and travel to the lungs causing a pulmonary embolism.

Intestinal problems – We are just beginning to learn about the impact of GLP-1 medications on the body’s gastrointestinal system. Other types of severe reactions can occur in the stomach, small intestine and large intestine.

Chronic or Persistent Vomiting – Vomiting that lasts several weeks or longer and does not resolve. It can lead to dehydration, malnutrition, and hospitalization.

Chronic or Persistent Diarrhea – Diarrhea that lasts several weeks or longer and does not resolve which can also lead to malnutrition, dehydration and a hospital stay.

When I say “they went to bat” for me…this Law Firm literally did just that. They persevered to bring the hard-nosed Manufacturer to settle and provide me some recompense for everything I had to endure which led to this suit.
