A recent documentary from Bloomberg Originals points a spotlight on the risks and deaths linked to kratom, an unregulated substance. The film tells the story of 37-year-old Jordan McKibban, who died after using kratom products from brands such as Whole Herbs, Cloud House, and Hush Kratom. His grieving family hopes to raise awareness about the potential dangers of kratom in order to prevent similar tragedies.

The documentary also features an interview with mctlaw attorney Talis Abolins, who, along with fellow attorney Michael Cowgill, represents the McKibban family. Mr. Abolins emphasizes that while the kratom industry often exploits consumers, the substance could have potential medical benefits if subjected to rigorous research and regulation.

The film offers a balanced perspective, exploring both kratom’s possible therapeutic uses and the risks of addiction and fatal consequences associated with its use.
