February 2025 Data Release Shows the CICP is Failing COVID Vaccine Injury Victims
New data from February 2025 shows that the Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP) continues to fail COVID vaccine injury victims. You may hear about a $2.56 million payout for a rare blood clot case (TTS), but a closer look at the numbers reveals a troubling reality: almost no one receives compensation, and the few who do get alarmingly low amounts.
The Illusion of Large CICP Payouts
Two high value CICP payouts hide the real trend behind the program:
- The average payout (excluding the two highest cases) is only $4,000—barely enough to cover even minor medical expenses.
- Most myocarditis claims, the most common vaccine injury in the data, received between $1,000 and $5,500, with one outlier at $370K.
- Anaphylaxis, Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), and fainting cases received similarly small payouts, ranging from $2,000 to $4,500.
Thousands of Claims Denied or Stuck in Review
- Only 26 people have been paid out of 13,659 claims filed. That is less than 0.2% of cases.
- 3,664 claims were denied, often due to missed deadlines or strict proof requirements.
- Nearly 10,000 cases are still waiting for a decision.
mctlaw Takes Legal Action
The attorneys at mctlaw filed a federal lawsuit demanding that COVID-19 vaccine injuries be moved to the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP). This program offers better protections, allows legal representation, and compensates for pain and suffering.
What Needs to Happen Next
The CDC has already recommended COVID-19 vaccines for children and pregnant women, an important step toward moving claims into the VICP. Now, two things must happen:
- Congress needs to authorize a payment of 75-cents from vaccine manufacturers to the VICP for each future COVID vaccine dose sold
- The Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., must approve moving COVID vaccines into the VICP.
Until then, COVID-19 vaccine injury victims will continue to be ignored. The CICP is not working, and it’s time for real change.
What You Can Do
The system is failing people hurt by COVID vaccines. We all need to work together to be heard. Here’s how you can help right now:
- Let others know. Get other COVID vaccine injury victims signed up for our COVID-19 waitlist email alerts. The more people involved, the harder it is for the government to brush you aside. Help create a collective voice against the officials blocking COVID from the VICP.
- Tell your story on social media. Post on Facebook, Instagram, X, and anywhere else you can be heard. Demand action from lawmakers and public officials. The more attention you get, the more pressure you create.
It’s Time to Take Action The government’s failure to support vaccine injury victims is unacceptable, and we refuse to let them get away with it. If you or a loved one has suffered from a COVID-19 vaccine injury, now is the time to act.
